Disk Space: Minimum of 1.5GB for Android IDE and emulator.
IDE stands for Integrated Development Environment. If you Google it you will find different IDEs for Android development. But you should choose the one that is comfortable for you and more importantly easy to use. You can find IDE for developing android apps. Once you decide your IDE you should download it from its official site only so that you can get it properly.
As per my experience, Android Studio is the best IDE that I used ever. You will get it Android studio official website. Download it, It will be of at least 1GB or might be more than 1GB. Before downloading Android, Studio is sure that you have JDK 8. If you do not have it first download JDK8.
Once it is downloaded install it, I would suggest you keep all the path as default. After JDK installation install Android Studio. Again I suggest you keep all the path as default this would keep you intact from getting any errors in future.
Once you did the installation you will have a .exe file of Android Studio. Here you go, Open it and start your App development.
